A booking request is how you are able to book a place through Uniplaces. Putting it simply, it's a request that is sent to landlords asking them if their place is available to rent on the dates you selected.
To book a place on Uniplaces, you will first need to send a booking request with your payment details.
After you click on the Request to book button on our Complete your booking request form, you will have to provide some information about yourself, like your nationality, profile type, and destination university. We'll also ask you to write a little bit about yourself and why you want to move to this city and this specific place. Our landlords love to get to know our students a bit better before accepting their booking requests, so the more you write about yourself, the more inclined they will be to accept and welcome you!
You will also be asked to Insert your payment details, where you can choose between paying with a credit card or through PayPal. By sending a booking request with your payment details, you're letting a landlord know that you're really committed to booking their place. And rest assured — your card will only be charged the moment the landlord accepts your booking request, and not when you send it.
Once you're done filling out this form, simply click on Send booking request.
After you send a booking request, a landlord is notified and has up to 48 hours to reply to it. They can either accept your request, decline it, or suggest new dates. If the landlord takes more than 48 hours to reply to your booking request, it will automatically expire.
If a landlord accepts your request, the credit card you inserted when sending your booking request will be charged. If the payment goes through successfully, you'll receive a booking confirmation email and the landlord's contact details. In case a landlord declines your request, your credit card will not be charged — and we'll recommend some similar places you can choose from.
